christmasthroughtheyearbutton The train has pulled in, and another month is in the bag.  Had to go really simple this month…..I ran out of time!!!   These journals were a snap to make u020sing Mama

Said Sew fabric from Moda.  Fused down, a bit of stitching, some gluing and they were done.  This project was inspired by my friend Jan who gave me a journal a few years ago…..I love it and it’s almost used up.  Darlene has Mr.. Linky up 001over at her blog, so if you have made a present link up there and you will be entered in the drawing to win this tree topper….winner to be picked tomorrow!!!!

I am part of Terry’s Scrappy Stars group, and last month I was a no show…..or no maker!!!  BUT…….now I am caught up to everyone and 004 I have six scrappy 30’s stars done.  Thanks Terry for inspiring me to dig in to my 30’s stash!

Now the sad part……I did not even come close to gettinayos 2012 buttong Bounce done for Another Year of Schnibbles.  In fact it’s021 still in my basket where it

has been resting since the beginning of the month.  I will be heading off to a quilt retreat next week, so Bounce will be joining me!  Make sure to check in tomorrow with Sinta and Sherri to see the wonderful parade of Schnibbles for the month.

Getting Back To It!

We are back from our wonderful time away.  We tried to soak in all the Fall067 colors we could.  There were so many fun things to see .  Virginia, West Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland, are all such pretty places with so much history at every turn.  I am going to work on some photo collages to share.

But now it’s back to business.  This month is winding down….7 more days left to be exact.  I haven’t made my prezzies for the month, but I know what I’m going to do and it will be quick and easy for sure.  This month is my turn for the giveaway….001 this little tree topper/hanging could be yours!!  Just make a present or two and link up to Darlene at the end of the month and you will be entered in the drawing for the giveaway.

At the moment I am feeling a bit discombobulated. There is so much packed in to the next few weeks.  Got up early and made some lists……..now the trick will be to read them :-)!!!  Missed all my bloggy friends while we were gone, so there is lots to catch up on for sure!  Happy Thursday everyone.

Kitty Hawk and Williamsburg

001 Oh the beautiful Atlantic Ocean.  We are so excited to have had a day to spend in Nags Head and tour around, and also to visit Kitty Hawk.   1903

really wasn’t that long ago….just 007being in the place that Orville and Wilbur Wright made history is AMAZING.  The four markers indicating the length of those first fo009ur flights.  A wonderful

memorial dedicated to them.008   OK, checking this off my bucket list….I have wanted to visit here forever.

Today we were off to Williamsburg…again, AMAZING!!!015   We spent the

entire day here…..more to see than you can squeeze in in a day, but we gave it a good try025.  The weather started out a bit cloudy with some drizzles but the sun popped out and it was the perfect day.027

Fall is definitely showing it’s colors in this part of the country…..024

The Adventure Begins

Made it to Harrisonburg last night and woke up to a very pretty Fall morning.  We headed out bright anmosaica3e5195035f36ffd2471149111277dcfbe6efc1fd early to Appomattox to visit the McLean home where Lee surrendered to Grant.  So much history and so much to take it.  I couldn’t resist taking a picture of the room with the quilt!  Now we are in North Carolina, and are headed out in a bit for pizza.  Tomorrow it’s on to Nags Head and Kitty Hawk.  Happy Wednesday everyone.

I wasn’t quite on the ball finding tutorials this time…there is just too much going on in Polka Dotland.  I did contact Karen from Sew Many Ways about linking to her santa bucket 022 cute Christmas Santa Can tutorial…..love this…..and Karen very kindly said we were welcome to use any of her tutorials!!!!  Today I was looking through her blog and noticed she has a wonderful Christmas post linking to 26 Christmas projects and decorating ideas……link here to see all her amazing ideas.  For Pre Holiday Planning Karen has a list here of things we can all start on now to get a jump on Christmas planning.  Karen, thanks so much for sharing all your great tips, and ideas with us,  and for saving me this week!christmasthroughtheyearbutton    This month it’s my turn for the giveaway.  If you get a gift made, just link up to Darlene’s blog at the end of the month and your name will be entered in the drawing.

We are off in a couple days for an adventure….. starting out in Washington DC and taking a road trip to surrounding areas.  We are so excited and have lots of wonderful stops planned.  The kids will be holding down the fort at home while we are off gallivanting!! Happenings

The past week found us camping in Morro Bay for a family reunion with Mr. P’s family.  So much fun to catch up with cousins….lot’s of laughing, remembering the past and lots of relaxing…..BUT----- NO PICTURES!!!  I sure hope the blog police don’t come for me :-)!   It was so nice to escape the 100 plus temps we have been having.  The locals, apologizing for the heat wave….85 degrees!!!  That seemed like a cold snap to us!  Then returning home to much cooler temps….ahhhhhhhhh, Fall is here finally!!!

Speaking of Fall, we have a really fun pumpkin 001 patch that opens this time of year.  Not only is there a huge pumpkin patch, but a corn maze, jumpers for the little guys, and a sweet country store brimming with Fall decorations.

Yesterday I met up with my girl for breakfast…let the wedding planning begin!!!  We are brimming with ideas and the search is on for the spot……so exciting!!!!!  On my way home I stopped by my friend Judy’s shop…..O’Flanary’s Emporium.   WONDERFUL!!!012   She is filled to the brim with Fall goodness everywhere you turn.  If you see

013

something you lo014ve, she ships too!!!   I just love, love  Fall…….

but now back to reality!!!

Customer bindings are streaming in and I have to put the pedal to the metal005 .  The bindings on this stack are ready for hand sewing.  We have another adventure ahead next week, so I better lock myself in the quilting castle upstairs to get my work done!!   Happy week friends and welcome Fall!!!!
