Tutorial Monday

I am having so much fun hunting for tutorials.  Contacting everyone about using their pictures and links, and having such wonderful feedback has been the icing on the cake.  If you are using one of these tutorials and posting it on your blog, please be sure to link back to the designer of the tute!!!  So here we go.

Lori, from Bee In My Bonnet, has this great tutorial for these mini design boards.  You can make them in any size that you want.

Runners, runners!!!!  I am crazy for table runners.  First off Melissa at The Polkadot Chair has a very sweet tutorial  for a festive table runner and mini tree skirt.

Christmas Through The Year Winner!!!!

Darlene and I are so excited…we had 22 participants this month.  That’s a whole lot of Christmas presents done and ready for giving.  We are shaking our pom poms high!!!   Drum roll please……..the winner for the giveaway this month is Carrie P. from A Passion For Appliqué!!!   Congrats Carrie.  Please email me your address and your goodies will be on their way!!!

I have had several emails from people asking about CTTY…so here’s a quick rundown.  To start with this wonderful idea came from Allie…she hosted the club last year, so we are all very grateful to her for getting us up and going!! There are no sign ups for this group…you just join in when you can.  You make a Christmas gift each month and the last day of the month Darlene posts a Mr. Linky on her blog.  We have a giveaway each month and the winner is picked from the current Mr. Linky post.  The first and third Mondays of each month I do a post with of list of tutorials in case you are stuck on a gift idea  (plus I love looking for them)!!!  In addition to having a winner every month we're also going to have two Grand Prize winners next December.  Darlene and I are going to set aside an additional gift every month. The number of entries you have for the Grand Prizes will be based on how many months you participated. So if you participate all 12 months, you'll have 12 entries; 6 months - 6 entries  and so on. 

Today is playday with the Dots.  For me this weekend I am actually going to be doing some sewing so I’m excited!!!!   Happy Thursday everyone.

Christmas Through The Year….Show & Share

The end of the month is almost here and Darlene and I can’t wait to see what everyone has made.  Darlene will have Mr. Linky up and running on Wednesday the 29th….so make sure you link up!  This  months giveaway is a gadget bucket…with some other surprise goodies tucked inside.

be added to my Christmas box, and tonight I got the itch to make something else!

Karen from Sew Many Ways has this great tutorial for making heart bookmarks, so I decided to give it a whirl!!!!

them away in my Christmas box too!!  If you are thinking you didn’t have time to whip up a gift this month, I recommend this tutorial!

Schnibbles

  Last year I watched from the sidelines all the great Schibbles projects being made, so this year when Sherri and Sinta decided to continue on, I was in!

This months Miss Rosie’s Schnibbles pattern is   i.s.t.h. (insert snappy title here…..I just love that).  With days ticking down and wanting to get my project done, I went

for a table runner.  So fun to make…and I am considering quilting it myself…scary :-( !!!

My binding business is GREAT and a member of my family has decided to join the team …….Big Dot is the official pin pusher and does an outstanding job!!

Little Dot is the official play time boy and like his big brother, doing an outstanding job!

Love them both so much!!!!

FNSI Finishes…My Friend Joan The Wrapper and My Friend Carol The Tree Maker

For me Friday Night Sew In started in the afternoon.    Two tree mats (buttons sewed on even!!!) and a pouch to be mailed off to a friend today.  The trees not only are my Christmas finishes for the month, but will count as my Sew It’s Finished projects.  They were started at quilt camp in November…..so a twofer….YIPEEEEEE!

Later Friday night I made this Bookkeeper..pattern by Kim Walus with a link here.  It was so quick and easy to make.  It can hold a Kindle, IPAD, paperback or as Kim suggested, would make a cute sewing pouch.  I will definitely be making more of these!!

So my friend Joan is a wrapper…..a fabric wrapping rope wrapper :-)!!  She makes the most wonderful baskets and mats, and this past Wednesday at our friendship group this is what she made for me …… stinkin’ cute, and the flower is the perfect touch!  Maybe I did a bit of whining the week before when she made one for another friend….hmmm, I’m thinking the whining definitely paid off!!  I love it Joan..thanks so much!

My friend Carol made this cute quilt using the new Lorax fabric…and if you know the story, the trees are the perfect touch……60 trees to be exact!!  It’s her original design too!!

“I’m Going To Tasmania!”

……that was the text I got from our girl this past week!!  What?…was my text back.    Turns out her work has given her the opportunity to go to Tasmania for a couple weeks of training.  We are so excited and happy for this wonderful opportunity that she has been given.  As a mom, in your mind you can imagine things that will come up with your kids, this is one I never thought of!  Tonight we both successfully installed Skype so we can be in touch while she is there!!  Life…be open to the possibilities!

I love those cute little zipper pulls, and she knows how much I love 30’s.  It’s the perfect fit for all my binding
equipment!!
This Friday is the next FNSI.  Bobbi and Heidi

Tutorial Monday

January was a very successful month for Christmas Through The Year.  Darlene and I were so excited with the turnout!  Speaking of Darlene …we all are hoping that flu bug gets the heck out of your house soon!!
  So here we go with February.  This month’s giveaway is a Gadget Bucket for your sewing goodies. To be in the running to win this, all you have to do is make a Christmas gift this month.  Then at the end of the month Darlene will post a Mr. Linky where you can enter a link to your gift. A winner will be picked from this list of names.  The bucket is a 2 lb. coffee can so it holds quite a bit.  There are pockets around all sides.  Here’s the one I use, filled to the brim!  Wishing I was a better photographer..the picture doesn’t do it justice!
