In A Word.......Busyment!

I am renaming retirement, busyment!!! I have been busier in the last two weeks then I ever could have imagined!! Where do you sign up for a couple extra days in the week?? A whole week has passed and no post for me :-(! I would love to say I have done TONS of sewing....that would not be the case!!

I have made progress on my little Christmas quilt. A few details left. Some buttons, nose and the buttonholing. Some easy Christmas napkins that will be given as a giftie to someone special. Fast, fun and easy. All great elements to a project. Only four left to make!

Lucky me I have had many retirement breakfasts with friends, retirement dinners with friends .... and speaking of breakfast, I am here to announce that Pumpkin Pancakes are back at IHOP!!! Katie and I were out to breakfast last week and yumo - we had the first stack of the season. All this celebrating leads to another big problem......................................back to the gym for me! I go early in the morning and do my thing and then swing by Baby Luke's house and his momma goes and we hang out for an hour or so!!! Lots of holding going on!
Some great mail here in Polka Dot land...cuter than cute bag
from Darlene. I just love the fabric that it is made out of, and of course polka dots for the lining!
Then I won a pattern Angels Come To Play..such fun cupcakes to make!!
And this really great pattern I ordered from Nanette . Not a very good picture, but she has a banner all made up over on her blog on her September 2nd post. Check out her Etsy shop -she has several patterns for sale! And also these wonderful old letters from Jen!! Again..check out her Etsy shop. Lots of tempting things!! Now to get them hung up! And lastly, block number four of the Designer Mystery Block of the Month.....sadly block 3 is sitting unfinished but I am planning on tackling both 3 and 4 this weekend.

A blog redo is in the works for me! A new header, some new colors, who knows! It's all very exciting!!!! I have missed visiting the blogs and seeing all the goings on...I know you guys have been busily getting ready for Fall. So off I go to get inspired and to catch up with my blog buddies! Happy mid September to y'all!!! Later alligators :-)!

Hi Cheryl, Yes, I have heard that retirement is a very busy time in your life. That is good!! However, I guess you are having trouble trying to fit sewing in. That will come in time. I love the pig on the scale, what a great reminder. I would have to place it on my kitchen counter! I do love the bag/bucket that you received. Very nice. Now that you have lots new patterns you have to find the time to work on them....

Sounds like you are staying busy and having fun. Love your bucket, it is just adorable, and the pig is too cute! Block 4 arrived here yesterday, now I still need to make block 1,2 and 3....

Busyment, yep that's right. I think it seems to hit all of us right about this time of year. I love your Christmas project. Can't wait to see it finished. Also the napkins are so so cute. Are they just normal napkins folded to look like there is they are pieced?

Hia Cheryl, when you find out where you can buy extra days can you pick up a couple for me too. :-)

It's lovely that you are getting Luke time and his Mum is getting some time off too. How big is he now?

Love the bag!

Wow, you HAVE been busy! I'd guess it's probably hard to get used to budgeting your time when there are so many things to do and the schedule is wide open. I'm SO looking forward to that!!!

Oh Thanks Cheryl. I know what you mean. I need a secret saturday every week no one knows about. Maybe in heaven we have ultimate time to do things we want? Oh well I'll not get there so why worry. :-)

You are one busy woman! I understand what you're going through. I guess the older we get the faster time flies and the slower we get things done.

My Mum used to say,"I'm going to do that when I retire". She had a long list. Then she retired, and discovered she was busier than ever! She always said to me after this discovery, "If there's anything you want to do, do it now, because there won't be time when you retire!"

I agree about the retirement. I have found so many things to do that I never had time to enjoy; quilting has a tendency to slid by, that's for sure. Glad you are getting to see your new grandbaby a lot; they grow up so quickly. And I thought that picture of you on the button showed you had gained a little weight. I am sure you will get rid of it soon, :>)

The piggy on the scale is the cutest ever! I need one of those to remind me not to eat so much. It looks like you've been having a great time enjoying all the riches that retirement brings. I bought that pattern from Nanette, too. I hope to get working on it soon.
