Christmas Through The Year, Schnibbles Finish, Quilt Shop News, and……..

christmasthroughtheyearbutton  Here we are at the end of the month, and I don’t know about you, but with all this heat, thinking Christmas is a bit difficult.  I started off with one idea for my  project and soon realized that one was a bit to ambitious, so here’s my finish.017   What is it about yo yo’s…I love making them, and I have enough to make another couple trees.  I don’t know if you have visited Carol’s blog….she made a Christmas project each day for the month of July.  Stinkin’ cute, adorable, wonderful, amazing…..stop me I could go on and on…..projects, and on her post for TODAY she has a collage of all the projects….again AMAZING!!!!!!  Darlene will have Mr. Linky up tomorrow for you to link up your Christmas gifts for the month….and also there is a giveaway!!!  moredays Have you seen the Seven Days of Christmas Blog Hop going on over here?  Seven days of Christmas blocks and ideas…whoohoo!!!!!!!

The end of the month also means a finish for Another Year of Schnibbles, hosted by Sinta and Sherri. Thanks girls!!!  This month it was the pattern of our choice, and I went with Spot.018  Someday when time permits, I want to make a wall hanging out of this.  The pattern goes together like butter, and I love it in Vintage Modern.  Runners seem to be what I can get done these days.

The last four years I have spent my Wednesday evenings sewing with a fun group of ladies at one of the local quilt shops.  Recently the owner decided it was time to step away from the shop…..sadness for all for sure……..BUT,  great news. One of the longarmers, and friend to all of us, Ja006nuary,  decided to step in and buy the shop, and Cherry Berry Quilts was born.  It’s so exciting to see the changes happening.  January, along with her mom Joan, Theresa who worked for the previous owner, and many, many 007helpers, the new shop is coming to life.  Fabric, notions, patterns and books are arriving daily, and classes are high on the agenda.  Of course our open sew Wednesday  group is already up and going.002   So

fun.  Last Wednesday the classroom was full!  Congratulations January….you are off to a great start.

Saturday the family went to an Angel game580788_4323500256613_1352956628_n .  The Dots had a great time, and Big Dot loved yelling as loud as he could..and the clapping was fun of course.  Only sad part, our girls guy couldn’t be with us.  We will get him next time!!!!

Then there is this Thursday…….QUILT RETREAT!!!  Four fun filled days of sewing, sewing, sewing, eating and lots of laughing…snorting laughing I bet.  Hopefully I will get some things done :-)!!    Sunday, and I can’t believe this, Big Dot will be 4.  Party time Sunday night!!!!!!!!

Happy end of the month everyone.

Love your Vintage Modern table runner with the Spot pattern. We are twinsies this month both doing the Schnibbles quilt Spot and both using Vintage Modern. I like how they are the same but different too. Thanks for the plug about my Christmas in July, I just posted my little sewing item for the last day.

Cute yoyo tree, oh so many places I can think of to display that sort of tree, such a great Chrissy finish. Your itty quilt is lovely.

Cheryl your tree is darling! YES it's hard to think Christmas - halfway through the year I just wanted to quit, lol. Love your schnibbles!
Congrats to January, so glad she's keeping the shop open. One of our last local shops here is closing, very sad.

We went to our very first baseball game a couple of weeks ago, had a blast - so much fun that we're doing it again, lol! The ticket prices are MUCH better than hockey. Enjoy your retreat, and happy birthday to big dot!

Oh I miss going to Angel's games. My mom's work had season tickets and whenever they weren't claimed we always took them. Living in Utah now I don't get to do that with my kids but I used to love getting the call to get ready because we had tickets!

Your Spot runner is adorable. I'm glad to hear that it's easy to put together. It's definitely on my list of projects to do! I'm also glad to hear that your LQS will stay a LQS! Enjoy it :-)

I'm making a yo-yo tree too. Yours is darling! And Spot is gorgeous as a table runner. And yes, it is hard to work on Christmas gifts when the temps are above the century mark. Hope you're having a ball at the retreat!
